SHE/HER
Dr. Rebecca Salamo, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist who treats children, adolescents, and adults with the full spectrum of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, psychosis, PTSD, and perinatal mental illness. She strives to take a holistic approach to treatment, taking a careful history to ensure all aspects of an individual’s wellbeing are considered, including environmental stressors, physical health, and lifestyle factors. She uses medication management in conjunction with therapeutic interventions, utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
Dr. Salamo was raised in Santa Clarita Valley and attended University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology. She completed her medical training at Saint Louis University and Adult Psychiatry residency at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center. During her residency training, she saw the impact that early intervention in mental illness could have in changing the trajectory of an individual’s life, which inspired her to complete a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She has developed a particular passion for helping transitional-aged youth.
Dr. Salamo is a wife and mother who enjoys spending time with friends and family (including her pets) while exploring local beaches, restaurants, and parks.
