About Dr. Pentagulio

SHE/HER

Dr. Celena Pentagulio, MD, is a board-eligible adult psychiatrist practicing in Redondo Beach, California. She takes a compassionate approach to her practice and aims to create a trusting environment that encourages open communication with her patients. She develops personalized treatment plans that may incorporate medication, psychotherapy, and other lifestyle changes. Her motivation is to help her patients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Originally raised in San Diego, Dr. Pentagulio grew up in a multicultural Filipino-Armenian family. She completed her BS in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Afterward, she studied medicine at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. During her medical training, she found purpose in the therapeutic relationships she established with her patients while accompanying them through their mental health journeys, leading her to pursue psychiatry. She then returned to Southern California to complete her adult psychiatric residency at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center.

During her residency, she trained in specialized clinics treating psychosis, neurocognitive disorders, mood disorders, and perinatal mental health disorders. She cultivated an interest in working with young adults at the University of Southern California’s student mental health clinic, where she helped students through difficult life transitions. She has experience treating a broad range of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, autism, and addiction. She draws on techniques from trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure response prevention therapy (for OCD), and psychodynamic psychotherapy when treating her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Pentagulio enjoys traveling, being in nature, and spending time with her family, friends, and black lab.
